Norwegian Company Builds an Awesome Cabin for Hikers to Take a Rest

Already great hiking experience in northern Norway will now be even much better thanks to town of Hammerfest. The town’s local chapter of Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) decided to commission an awesome small cabin alongside the popular hiking terrain so the tired hikers could have a place to take a rest after a long day of walking.

The cabin, which has a tortoise shell look, was designed by SPINN Arkitekter with a goal to blend the structure into the landscape. After months of research, the team conceived a perfect look for the outer look of the building which was built from 77 pieces of timber that fit together like a puzzle. The interior of the cabin was done in a minimalistic manner and contains a simple setting which includes tables, benches and a burning stove.

While this project ended up exceeding the budget, thanks to the crowdfunding campaigns, local businesses, and volunteers, the construction of the cabin was successfully finished and is ready to welcome its first hikers. DNT now has plans to build another cabin on the opposite side of the town.
