Kamalky Laureano’s paintings can easily be confused with real-life photographs. The 35-year-old Dominican-born painter gained popularity thanks to his hyperrealistic paintings full of small details.

Living and working in Mexico City, Leureano puts so much effort into the little details that it’s hard to believe that his work is a painting done on canvas, and not a real photograph. Freckles, pores, and skin textures are his specialty.

“I like to create intrinsic patterns, controlled explosions of matter shaped until I’m happy,” the artist shared on Instagram where he has 78k followers and counting.
