Judit Just Anteló moved from Spain to North Carolina in 2013 to continue developing her brand Jujujust. Judit was thought how to weave by her mother when she was a girl. Later in life, she studied fashion design, sculpture, and textile art in Barcelona.

Today, her work is a mixture of old techniques and new trends. She implements neon colors and makes unique combinations of threads, creating stunning wall tapestries.

“Most of my tapestries are just an involuntary result of an improvisation, a dance with colors and materials,” Anteló says. “I like to let myself flow and see what it transforms into afterwards. Once I finish and approve one design, I keep the original in my studio to reproduce it in different color variations. Then I redo them and make them evolve and metamorphose into other creations.”

QUESTION✨〰️Where do you guys find your inspiration?…….. I’ve been asked a lot lately through interviews and podcasts where i do find inspiration from…….I’ve always been a little drawn by the concept of synesthesia (the perceptual phenomenon in which you perceive one same thing through two different senses) …….a mix of impressions that gets you carried away bringing you to an involuntary secondary sensory pathway. Wassily Kandinsky, the father of abstraction, was a synesthete, always trying to evoke sound through color and shapes and he’s always been a huge inspiration for me………with my weaves I try to seek the pleasure between the relationship of a tactile versus a visual synesthesia, touching colors, listening textures, tasting shapes…. perceiving colors represented by certain shapes, and vice versa……but specially, my purpose is to share this experience with everyone else and give them some colorful goosebumps…….also the work itself is very inspiring……while I’m weaving one tapestry I usually go crazy jumping on diverse ideas at the same time like a distracted butterfly……..I try to make fast sketches and secure some of the color combinations that suddenly pop on my mind, as fast as possible…….. sometimes while I’m on a walk I get some forms and thoughts…….. sometimes I imagine and interpret a song, or a smell or a landscape……. sometimes I dream about certain textures . . #jujujust . . . . . . #walldecor #wovenwallhanging #wovenwallart #weaversofinstagram #weaverfever #weaving #wallart #walldecor #homedecor #makersofinstagram #creativehappylife #handmade #fabricart #textileart #fiberart #tapestry #artsy #artoftheday #geometric #livethelittlethings #synesthesia #creativityfound #colortheory #artoftheday #hifructosemagazine #designmilk #colossalart
