Two Artists Create Miniature Paper Cut Birds Everyday For One Year

Vaishali Chudasama and Nayan Shrimali are paper cut artists based in India. They decided to take up a 365-days challenge of creating miniature paper cut birds for the entire year of 2018.

“Each artwork begins with a sketch on paper. After that different layers are traced from the sketch on 200 GSM watercolor paper. Then each layer is precisely hand cut and then they are ready for coloring. Each tiny layer is hand painted with watercolors with utmost precision. Finally, all the layers are assembled together to get a 3-dimensional look for our tiny paper birds,” Vaishali wrote on Bored Panda.

The process is not an easy task and each piece takes about 4-8 hours to finish, depending on the details. You can see some of their tiniest artworks measure from 1.8 cm in height. They hope that through their art, people can see the beauty and importance of these birds and will help to preserve them.
