Bon Appétit’s pastry chef Claire Saffitz is back with another tasty experiment in the food magazine’s latest YouTube video. This time Claire is trying to make gourmet Snickers.
Snickers is one of the world’s most famous chocolate bars and the favorite treat of many kids and adults all over the globe. It has a simple structure of nougat topped with peanuts and caramels, and wrapped in milk chocolate, which shouldn’t be a problem to replicate and upgrade, right? Well, it turns out that there is more to this candy than it seems.
Claire ended up spending several days working on her homemade Snickers bar, trying to perfect the recipe but also retain the charm of the original. It was only after 10+ tries and fails that she ended up cracking the code and getting a perfect recipe for the gourmet version of this favorite chocolate bar.
