Actor Tom Lenk Hilariously Recreates Celebrity Outfits

Actor Tom Lenk, best known for his part on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has an ongoing project on his Instagram page where he posts photos of recreated celebrity outfits. He’s been doing this for years, so it’s safe to say he’s having a lot of fun with it.

Lenk gets plenty of inspiration by watching celebrities at award shows, photo shoots and runways. He recreates both ordinary and bizarre looks, often adding a fun twist. He may be using just regular, household items, but he puts in real effort recreating every possible detail, from hairstyle to shoes.

Get that KWEEN AND LEGEND #fayedunaway @gucci #LenkLewkForLess with an orange fuzzy pillow cover (recycled from Robert Pattinson LEWK) pinned onto some pants, red construction paper, gold cording, shipping envelope, @thecontainerstore clear plastic shoebox with some red @sharpie on it (for the shades), and a yard of Uncomfortable pink metallic fabric that I'm pretty sure @basscasting donated to my craft kit and quite possibly had been used on a @queenlesli stage garment or puppet or both? IDK. But I used the sewing machine and actually sewed and I wish you could see how HAFF ASSED it is. SIDE NOTE: one time I went to the @designwithinreach store (with my pal @tonybriant old locaysh on Beverly) just to see if it was within my reach. TURNS OUT ITS NAWT. Faye was in the store dressed CAJEWELEE And incognito in a baseball cap chatting with a couple sales associates who were standing a few feet away from her. I couldn't hear exactly what they were saying but as I continued to browse I heard her say in perfect stage ANNUNSEEAYSHUN "can you not stand so close, I'm a bit claustrophobic." I had head to toe chills and though I might implode with joy and jealousy that the associates got to have that MOH-MENT. IT WAS EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED. I wanted to be them in that moment. I wanted to be her in that moment and also I wanted to watch the entire scene from above!!!! And I saw her years prior at the Doolittle theater on Master Class and she was AMAZENK. Weirdly, my least accurate?! How did this happen?! Was it so easy that it completely threw me off my crafting game?! Was this the ultimate challenge and I failed?! Or did I actually do it first and Cate is recreating me?! Or is the REAL REEZUN THAT CATE SET A TRAP FOR ME. SHE LURED ME IN WITH HER FAUX FASHUNZ AND I TOOK THE BAIT AND GOT CAUGHT ON HER HEWK AND SHE REEEELD ME IN AND DRIED ME OUT PUT ME UP ON HER WALL LIKE A STUFFED SWORDFISH TROPHEE?! So ummmm your gonna say are you a crafting Hermit? Do you leave the house? Yes. And also yes. But seriously this only took me a couple hours total which is v v weird cuz this may be my greatest achievement and it's time to retire? "Coco's" original LEWK: @m_ceglia hair, @makeuphag makeup, @loueyrich costume design, @onlycatsandfood costumer/photo cred. Also I'm obsessed with AHS and OBVS obsessed with @lesliegrossman. She is KILLING IT and I can't get enough of COCO! Plus #coven was my fave season so I am FREAKING OUT THIS SEASON! Trivia: I have been on 2 @mrrpmurphy shows: POPULAR as chicken delivery boy (my second TV gig of my career!) and Nip/Tuck as somebody's lawyer IDK I can't remember and I am in love with his WERK! #fbf to this #LenkLewkForLess that I forgot to post a couple weeks ago?! My aunt found this #GRAPHIC #AUTUMNAL sweater at a thrift store for real cheap a few years ago and I was honored to receive such a treasure. The label says @versace but like in a font that makes me question it's authenticity. I'm KEWL with it tho. I've used it for so many things. It's really a multi-purpose LEWK. FASHUN is all about DRAPING! 💁🏌‍♂Shout out to the originals @itscarolburnett and @bobmackie whose Gone With The Wind curtain dress immediately popped into my head when I saw this @ladygaga LEWK designed by @themarcjacobs! True story: In college I took a costume class from oscar nominated costume designer Julie Weiss (which blew my mind and I was always late for cuz it was 10 am on Saturdays) and she took us to the @bobmackie design studio on a field trip (heaven) and separately I won the @itscarolburnett award/ scholarship at UCLA for an original scene I came up with wherin I HAWT GLEWED taps to my converse, and proceeded to serenade a blow up doll, tap dance on a table, reveal asinine home made props and finally win over my scene lovey scene partner (@susville ♥)TASTE FREE! …long story short, WHY WASN'T I taking pics and videos of this all decades ago?!
