Bas den Braver is a Rotterdam-based designer who decided to use his crochet skills a bit differently than you would assume. Instead of making sweaters, this talented artist, who is better known for his pseudonym Zabbez, is turning fabric into unique dolls.
Inspired by nature, Zabbez makes adorable crochet flower dolls that resemble characters from fantasy stories and animated movies. His creations are one-of-a-kind, and he designs new patterns by himself.
“I have always been inspired by nature, plants, and flowers,” Zabbez says on his website. “To balance my urban city life I have painted the walls of my apartment green and surrounded myself with lots of house plants. Here my flower dolls come to life. Doing crochet and designing new patterns make me happy. I love creating a flower fantasy world. They show all the colors of the rainbow, and you do not need to water them. I am sure they will bring you happiness!”
