Alex Peter Idoko is a self-taught pyrography artist from Nigeria. He is best known for creating astonishingly detailed portraits that could be easily mistaken for vintage photographs.
Having a keen interest in art from a very young age, Idoko experimented with various mediums over the years. However, it was pyrography that caught his attention the most and allowed him to explore his creativity and bring his imagination to life.
Idoko developed his own techniques that helped him bring out his vision. This includes a pioneering technique he calls pyro-fusionism, which sees the artist combine acrylic paint with pyrography.
Idoko’s intriguing creations have rightfully captured the attention of the art world and allowed him to exhibit his portraits in the United States, UK, and Italy among others. He also received several recognitions, including the Artnation People’s Choice Award in 2022.
