In the food chain, some animals are meant to be prey while others, predators. Sometimes, this isn’t the case. A Finnish photographer was shocked to see the unlikely friendship of a male brown bear and a female gray wolf.
The animals were seen for about ten days, playing, spending time together and even sharing food. The 56-year-old Lassi Rautiainen says it was unusual to see the animals getting along. It is the first time in Europe that such an occurrence is captured on camera. He took photos of the pair but could not tell when this weird friendship started or how it started. However, he believes that the pair may have been friends since they were young and grew up together.
So far there are no scientific studies to back up that claim because the cases are rare in the wild. But this doesn’t stop us from appreciating the beauty of their friendship.
