A video made by New York-based animator Nate Milton titled Viewfinder has been recently getting the attention of internet users for perfectly capturing the feeling of growing up in the 1990s and early 2000s.
The video is created in the POV (point of view) manner and takes the viewer across all sorts of activities and experiences that were popular during the era while featuring a number of easter eggs and popular pieces of technology.
It starts with the main character resting on a sofa with Crackers’ n Cheese Dip Snack and watching a TV show. A plethora of 90s and 00s-specific scenes continue to unfold, featuring light-up sneakers, mixing soda drinks at refill stations, flipping through CD books, listening to the radio while snacking on Halloween candies, getting ears pierced with a safety pin, recording stunts with a camcorder.
“Growing Up, TV Shows and Shenanigans,” Milton captioned the video.
