Peter Kokis makes robots, or more correctly he turns himself into robots. The Brooklyn-based artist makes his costumes out of only recycled materials salvaged from the trash. The heavy, Transformers-inspired designs are made in his home, on his kitchen table, and requires his full attention. Like, for example, “The Terminator” outfit needed exactly 500 hours of construction.

“I look at the shape of objects and see their potential to portray something,” artist wrote. “Virtually everything can be changed to suit my needs: re-shaped, cut-down, painted…altered in my ‘foundry’, to be seen as something else.”

After his creation is done, he wears his futuristic design in the streets of New Your City.
