“Demon Dog” Ralphie is Instagram’s Favorite Skater Boy

When the French bulldog Ralphie first made waves on social media, he was described as a “demon dog” but those days are long behind him. He’s now a good boy—a good “Sk8er Boi” to be exact—after his new owner taught him how to skateboard and started sharing his videos online.

Ralphie is now a true Instagram sensation, but finding a home for him wasn’t easy. He was the subject of a viral Facebook ad shared by the New York-based nonprofit Niagara County SPCA, which hilariously captured his volatile nature, and described him as a “fire-breathing demon” that can’t be tamed.

This ad would discourage most people from adopting Ralphie, but not Jason Lin, a dog trainer with 15 years of experience under his belt. After three failed adoption attempts, he brought him home to Knoxville, Tennessee, and Ralphie was pretty much unrecognizable after undergoing a six-week training program.

In addition to helping Ralphie become more social and develop his attention span, Lin taught Ralphie some epic tricks that most other dogs can only dream of doing. Most notably, Ralphie learned how to ride a skateboard, becoming our favorite “Sk8er Boi” and finding viral fame with adorable clips that showcase his special talent.
