Illustrator Creates an Alphabet Made of Playful Dogs

Cielle Graham is a 32-year-old fine artist, illustrator, and animator living and working in Montreal, Canada. In her work, the French New Zealand-born artist uses pen and ink to create large scale animal drawings.

During her career, Graham spent a lot of time outdoors observing Mother Nature and the connection between all living creatures. Unable to articulate it, she has come to think of her drawings as not featuring humans or animals, but “giving form to a kind of energy that is always with us, constantly moving and taking on different shapes.”

In one of her projects, the illustrator created an alphabet series made of intricate ink drawings of around 200 dogs, which she wants to turn into a beautifully printed book.

“I created this illustrated series that captures the playfulness and livelihood as an homage to the joy that brings into our lives,” the artist shared on her Instagram page.
