Multi-Talented Artist Makes Realistic-Looking Animals From Wool

Claudia Marie Lenart is an artist who worked with big brand names like Tiffany & Co. and Mociun. According to her bio, she has been a handwork artist since she was a little girl. She inherited her mom’s passion for sewing, crochet, knitting, and embroidery.

Lenart says she was a little bit rebellious and didn’t like to follow patterns, so she would make up her own designs for doll clothes and embroidery. However, many years later, she discovered needle felting and became a true expert.

“I love nature, adore animals and enjoy spending time in the woods,” the artist wrote on her personal website. “My wool animals are inspired by those I observe in nature. I also spend countless hours studying photographs of animals from every angle. This has helped me create a sense of realism in my needle felt animals.”

She is also an author and a book illustrator who uses a variety of techniques like needle felting, wet felting and pressed wool painting to create her illustrations.
