Parisians ask Instagram Influencers to Stop Using This Colorful Street

Rue Crémieux is a place where you can find the most colorful street in Paris, France. It has been transformed into a famous photo location for Instagrammers. But for residents, they wanted the tourists to avoid crowding the pastel street.

According to Insider, the locals are tired of dealing with Instagram users flocking to the street for the perfect shot.

“We sit down to eat, and just outside we have people taking photos, rappers who take two hours to film a video… bachelorette parties who scream for an hour,” a resident confessed to a radio station. “Frankly, it’s exhausting.”

When you searched the hashtag ‘#ruecremieux’ on Instagram, you can see more than 31,000 public posts. The locals are now asking for the rainbow street to be closed off during peak hours on evenings and weekends.

Last trip to Paris I set off to find all the cutest and prettiest streets in Paris and their exact locations. I was successful and you can read the post (link in bio). Rue Cremieux is probably the most popular street on Instagram as far as ‘pretty streets’ go in Paris. Of course I had to visit. First it was FAR from where I prefer to stay in Paris and pretty far from all the main attractions and I had to drag my family all the way here just to see it and we almost missed sunset at the Eiffel Tower. While it was nice and colorful, it was, again, very far from everything! It was cute and very colorful and worth a stop one time, but I’m not sure I would go back so soon in the next trip. Plus, I went to London straight after and London has about a zillion streets that are colorful like this. On my list in bio, you will find this street (because hey it IS pretty) along with 9 other streets I love oh so much in Paris! Check it out and tell me your fave street and if you liked this one if you have visited! . . . . . . . . . . . . #ruecremieux #thisisparis #parisgram #wonderlustparis #parismonamour #paris_bigcity #traversefrance #unlimitedparis #loves_france #ongooglemaps #viewbugfeature #bbctravel #resourcemag #fodorsonthego #parisisalwaysagoodidea #iloveparis #hello_france #paris_focus_on #pariscityvision #topfrancephoto #super_france #visitlafrance #parisonline #sheisnotlost #femmetravel #france_focus_on #iamtb #dametraveler #streetscape #blondesandcookies

What I love ❤️ the most about this street, is the fact it doesn’t look like a Parisian street 😍! And I also love it because it’s super cute 🥰! It was my second time there, and I enjoyed it even more than the first time ✨! In fact, it was sunny 🌞 that day, so another reason to make me smile 😁! It was quiet so I took the time to admire each house 🤩! And while I was wandering there, I made myself a promise: if I ever buy a house 🏠, I will paint it 👩‍🎨 in a pastel color! I think putting colors in our lives make us happier, or at least more joyful 💃🏻! And that’s something we all need in our lives 😘 ::::: Rue Crémieux is a cobblestoned and pedestrianised street in Paris. The street is bordered with colourful 🌈 private houses. This place gives the impression that we are outside of Paris, somewhere in a small Provincial town or in a French seaside resort 🌊. The 35 identical houses 🏡 that border the street look like English terraced cottages (hello Notting Hill). The residents are proud of their street and have ensured that it is well maintained. It was the residents’ initiative to paint 🎨 their façades with gentle pastel colours: green 💚, blue 💙, purple 💜, yellow 💛, pink 💖… and it's so photo-friendly. No wonder why this place became very popular with Instagram! But let’s face it, the street residents would surely prefer that their spot was left unknown. You know how hectic an Instagram spot can be. So I do encourage you to be discreet on your visit to rue Crémieux. 🤫 ::::: Thank you @nadinemerabi for this gorgeous dress!
