Rogue One is Transforming Glasgow, Scotland, Into a Street Art Hub One Mural at a Time

If you happen to take a walk on the streets of Glasgow, Scotland, and notice a stunning mural, the chances are that you are looking at the work of Bobby McNamara, aka Rogue One. This street artist has been creating amazing pieces on the city walls for the past 20 years as part of a mission to transform Glasgow into a street art hub.

Despite working almost exclusively in Glasgow, Rogue One earned a reputation as one of the world’s most famous street artists and it isn’t hard to see why. His works cover a wide range of subjects, including fantasy scenes and pop culture characters, while exemplifying master artistry in realism and stunning attention to detail.

Additionally, the artist isn’t too picky about his canvas or the scope of his creations. He will do grandiose murals that cover the entire side of the building but will also be happy to take on a project of bringing color to a plain passageway with a smaller piece.

“Glasgow (like any city) needs color, and people are enjoying seeing these large murals start to pop up around the city. I would like to think they are, lol. As one person said to me ‘it brightens the place up and gives you something to smile about on the way to work’,” Rogue One explained in a recent interview.

If you don’t have the opportunity to visit Glasgow and see Rogue One’s works in person, don’t worry. The artist regularly shares his newest murals on social media. Scroll down to check out more of them.
