When it comes to cuteness, it’s hard to compete with dachshund dogs. Embodying the essence of “aww”, their miniature stature and playful personalities make them the ideal pet.

Recently we’ve taken to a miniature longhaired dachshund named Winston. And if cuteness is a virtue, Winston is one of its saints. “Winston is the most amazing creature in the world,” gushed his owner, Ana, in an interview with helloBARK!. “He is kind, loving, smart and protective.”

Which naturally makes him a good candidate for Instagram stardom. His online presence was further reinforced after some 100 people attended his first birthday party in Hyde Park—an event that was commemorated in The New York Times (because, why not?).

With almost 14,000 fans on Instagram, Winston also collaborates with brands like Edgard Cooper, Purplebone, and The Rockster. But most of his day consists of naps and pets.

“After he is done with his morning beauty sleep, he has his breakfast and we go for a walk in the park,” says Ana. “The rest of the day is: siesta after the walk, wake, play, have dinner, do commands training with food from the family dinner, play some more, a quick walk around the block and signing off for the day.”

There’s a good boy!

Some squads are superior to others—and Harriet Birch’s Sausage Squad is high above the rest. Composed of five adorable Daschunds, this is one squad you want to run into, and then give it a good belly rub.

According to Birch, she knew she wanted a Daschund early on, and later begged her parent to get one. Her first sausage pup, Missy, came into her life over 10 years ago.

Missy then went on to have two litters, and Birch kept a dog from each—Button and Duke. But then Duke found a girlfriend and they had their own litter, with Apple completing the squad.

Now all five dogs—Missy, Button, Duke, Ivy, and Apple—are living the life. Based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, they amassed a huge following online, with fans who have grown obsessed with the cute pups and their journey.

But having a pampered squad comes at a price, and Birch admits to spending £800 a month on clothes, accessories, photoshoots, treats, toys, beds, blankets, food, and insurance: “They are worth every single penny,” she told Metro. And we can see why!

Described as a chewer of feet, destroyer of toys, and breaker of stereotypes, Baloo, an 80-pound American Staffordshire Terrier and Red Heeler mix, is a rising star on Instagram. Rescued in November of 2018, his bunny-like ears and lush red coat make for one adorable combination that has melted the hearts of his many fans.

“Rescuing a dog can be one of the hardest, but most rewarding things you can ever do with your life,” admitted his owner, Bella, in an interview with helloBARK! Through her online platfor, she hopes to dispel the myths surrounding Bull Terriers, as well as encourage others to adopt instead of shop.

“Make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons,” she stresses, “dogs aren’t a toy, or a short term accessory, but a 10-15 year commitment that will require your full attention, love, and patience. Rescue dogs are so forgiving and loving, but can also be fragile. Be patient with them, and make sure they know you’re there to help them.”

According to Bella, though her family was hesitant at first, Baloo ended up being an incredibly socialized and intelligent dog. Specializes in napping all day, burping, and farting simultaneously, he’s also a huge goofball. “I was so lucky to have found my perfect dog and soulmate at a shelter right down the road!” says Bella.

You’d want to tune in on their many adventures!

Remix the dog, AKA the Stylish Bearded Pupster is one classy pup. A Miniature Schnauzer hailing from Toronto, Canada, his small size doesn’t slow him down. In fact, with features in esteemed fashion magazines like ELLE, Glamour, and Mr. Porter, we can barely keep up.

Most famous for his horn-rimmed glasses, Remix is the Dumbledore of Dogdom and the beard to the hipster. He’s also a frequent flyer, having traveled around the globe, anywhere from Israel to Puerto Rico.

“His collection of Hawaiian shirts work well in the Miami weather,” reflected his owner, Chris Ha, in an interview with Django. “He is sort of known for sporting sunglasses. When I put them on his head, he freezes in place, which is actually perfect for taking photos.”

But according to Ha, Remix (like most fashion divas) is also kind of a diva, in terms of attitude: “Remix is super grumpy,” admits Ha. “His nickname is ‘Grumpy Pup’ because he makes this grumbling sound whenever he is doing anything. When I want him to do something, it always has to be on his own terms. Though he is always attached to us in some way and needs to cuddle.”

If you’re a fan of all things miniature, your heart might as well explode when you encounter the following Instagram celebrity. Based in Montreal, Chihuahua Cedric is one tiny, tiny pup. How tiny? A bit larger than a mango, and about the size of a small watermelon.

Known for his hilarious Instagram posts, he’s often sporting cute outfits and costumes, highlighting is tiny frame. With just one tooth and his tongue proudly sticking out, Cedric is too pure for this world.

“I was the last puppy left in the litter that no one wanted, because I have a severe overbite,” admitted the pup in a mock interview with Dog Whisperer HQ (for the time being, his owners choose to stay anonymous). “My humans knew my biological father and that’s how they learned about me. They had been wanting a small dog that they could easily travel with.”

It was when his owners saw a video of the pup playing with his siblings that they fell in love immediately and made the decision to take him in. “When they first saw me in person, they were surprised. I had seemed much bigger in the photos and videos. They were terrified that they would accidentally step on me or hurt me. We got to know each other over a few weeks and they stopped worrying as they saw I was very smart and careful.”

Don’t take this tiny pooch for granted. With some 60k followers on Instagram alone, and some viral videos comparing him to different-sized fruit and vegetable, Chihuahua Cedric is the next best thing on the internet. You’ll have to trust us on that.

Havanese rescue pup, Einstein, might be small but his personality, his owner assures us, is very BIG. The four-year-old dog, based in Seattle, Washington, also goes by the name Panda and loves playing chase, giving face kisses, and making humans laugh. With almost 20k followers on Instagram, he’s also kind of a big deal.

In an interview with Hello Bark! his owner described the first time he’s laid eyes on him. “I was ready for a small dog, and was visiting shelters almost every day to find one that was a good fit,” he recalled. “One morning, I walked into a shelter and Einstein had been rescued the night before – there he was, staring up at me. I saw that he was a Havanese and I instantly knew he was my dog. I never expected to find a Havanese in a shelter, but it opened my eyes to the variety of pups who can be rescued the same way.”

A love story followed suit, and the two haven’t separated ever since. “If Einstein could only do one thing for the rest of his life, it would be sitting in my lap kissing my face,” says his owner. “He is loyal almost to a fault, and attached to my heels wherever we go.”

Einstein is also described as a very gentle and loving pup. “One of my favorites is when a close friend brought her newborn to meet us,” his owner shared a sweet memory of Einstein. “I wasn’t sure how Einstein would do with the baby, but he was incredibly sweet and gentle with her. It was wonderful to see how caring he was with this tiny baby, and over the years their bond has gotten stronger and stronger.”

You can follow his delightful adventures on Instagram.

Sprout, a three-year-old Brussel Griffon, was named after his mother’s (randomly specific) love of vegetable puns. His Instagram tag line? “Just trying to make it in the hustle and Brussel of NYC.” With a love of both puns and sweaters, the miniature pooch has a massive following, with more than 146k fans on Instagram alone.

“I am a smooth coated Brussels Griffon, which is a type of dog, not a woodland critter, gremlin, ewok or other mythical creature,” reads his website (you didn’t think he didn’t have a website, right?)

Based in downtown New York City, his hobbies include sidewalk cafes, rooftop parties, Central Park, and sleeping on the subway.  “On occasion, I engage in dog-like behavior, namely, playing fetch, barking incessantly at toys I have intentionally dropped off the couch, and zooming around the living room for no apparent reason,” says his website.

His nicknames include Sproutie, Sproutito, Bandito, Puppito, Puppers, Sweet Potato and, sometimes when he’s feeling especially cheeky,  Sir Sproutie Von Brusselington. According to his owner, he gets extraordinarily pouty when he’s tired. Which naturally, makes for a very cute photo op.

Follow him on Instagram, you know you want to.

Harley (AKA Harlso the Balancing Hound), a 4-year-old dachshund hailing from Belfast, Northern Ireland, has amassed well over 50 million views on his many (many!) social media pages. Known as the King of Balancing, the loveable pooch is famous for balancing anything and everything, including food, toys, and plants on his head.

“He just has the flattest head,” said his owners, Jennifer Scott and Paul Lavery, in an interview with BBC News. “He can’t do any normal tricks, sit or anything. Balancing things on his head is the only thing he can do,” they admitted.

It all started with a toy chicken, which he balanced masterfully. “My talent was unearthed by chance that night,” reads a blog post on Harley’s website. “I made dad throw my favorite toy chicken 34628193 times until he could throw no more. (1-0 Harlso). He thought it would be funny to balance it on my head… little did he know, I’ve a head flatter than his jokes. Sometimes he uses them to caption my posts… DAD JOKES… how embarrassing.”

“He loves balancing, some people message saying that he looks sad… but that’s just his face! Its how they look! He loves it,” his owners assure. “Its all a bit of fun, but if any of the readers want to suggest something, he’ll give anything a go,” they added.

Take a look at Harlso in action.

Pom Pom Chewy, (or Chewy for short), is said to be the world’s littlest trendsetter. The cream and white Pomeranian is an actor and model and was also featured in independent films like Humor Me. His style is fresh and his outfits are always on point – a mixture of pineapple printed shirts with pinstripe straight-leg pants.

But though Chewy’s current life is very much glamorous, it took him some time to get to where he is today. A rescue from Northern Ontario, he was born sick and skittish, and his owners didn’t even know if he was going to make it. He was also very scared of people and liked to hide under the couch.

It took a lot of patience to build a bond of trust with his owners, but once they had it, Chewy accompanied his mom to her work as a teacher. And it seemed to all work out for the better, as he enjoyed very much playing and bonding with children.

Apart from being an Instagram star, Chewy’s favorite past times are dressing up and making appearances across North-America, hopping from one sunny patio to the next. “He’s very aware and also curious,” said his owner in an interview with Hello Bark. “He can tell how the people around him are feeling and will act accordingly. He loves playing fetch and find the toy.”

Trendsetters come in many shapes and forms, and when it comes to fashion – Instagram delivers! So it comes as no surprise that some of our favorite models on Instagram aren’t human at all.
