]]>Despite working almost exclusively in Glasgow, Rogue One earned a reputation as one of the world’s most famous street artists and it isn’t hard to see why. His works cover a wide range of subjects, including fantasy scenes and pop culture characters, while exemplifying master artistry in realism and stunning attention to detail.
Additionally, the artist isn’t too picky about his canvas or the scope of his creations. He will do grandiose murals that cover the entire side of the building but will also be happy to take on a project of bringing color to a plain passageway with a smaller piece.
“Glasgow (like any city) needs color, and people are enjoying seeing these large murals start to pop up around the city. I would like to think they are, lol. As one person said to me ‘it brightens the place up and gives you something to smile about on the way to work’,” Rogue One explained in a recent interview.
If you don’t have the opportunity to visit Glasgow and see Rogue One’s works in person, don’t worry. The artist regularly shares his newest murals on social media. Scroll down to check out more of them.

]]>Most of Doras’ murals can be found on the walls of Montreal’s buildings or sometimes on the city’s streets. They brighten up the grey urban surroundings and captivate passersby. If you come across one, you’ll instantly know it is one of his works thanks to its large scale and unique and recognizable style.
His works are colorful and give off a dream-like atmosphere. Doras packs them with ornaments and iconography while using contemporary fantasy as a source of inspiration. They often tell a complex story that leaves it up to the viewer to put the pieces of the puzzle together by unpacking the true meaning of each prominent element.
According to Doras, he uses his illustration background to create the murals, which ” feature objects, scenes and characters that might easily have been ripped from the pages of a book.” You can check out more of his works by scrolling below.

]]>Rox dives into all sorts of different subjects when creating his pieces. Sometimes, it will be an optical illusion of a street that you will think you walk into, an old pirate ship emerging from the wall and seemingly sailing towards you, or Marvel’s superhero Hulk crashing through bricks.
Rox has been active as a street artist since 2008 while also working in other mediums including paintings, digital art, and more. He estimates that he created more than 5,000 works that are scattered all over the world.
“Like many modern artists, I started drawing from sketches at school and the first walls of my city. By honing my drawing skills daily, I was able to achieve rapid growth in graffiti culture. I began to receive orders for wall painting from various institutions and organizations. I learned how to make master classes and teach people. After that, I opened a painting studio and recruited a team with which I implement the most daring projects,” Rox shares about his creative journey.

]]>Italian street artist ONIRO made the connection between nature and humans the centerpiece of his mesmerizing murals. In his works, plants, branches, or large land masses come together to form human forms and organs.
For example, one of ONIRO’s murals shows a tree taking the shape of a human heart. Another mural, titled Coltivazione del Sé (Cultivation of Self), shows outstretched hands holding a pot from which a plant grows and takes the shape of a human.
“Who we are? Who are we deep down? In the invisible textures of our essence, there is a pressing need to manifest our Uniqueness. I dream of a reality in which everyone can feel FREE TO BECOME THEMSELVES by finding their own role in the world, cultivating their own aptitudes and diversity, which are essential to the richness of the social ecosystem,” ONIRO shared captioning the photo of “Coltivazione del Sé” on his Instagram page.

]]>Mess specializes in botanical murals that see her adorn grey buildings and urban structures with depictions of flowers, plants, leaves, and occasional vibrant birds. Her works can be found on the streets of major European cities like London, UK, and Paris, France.
Wherever they settle, Mess’ murals become an integral part of the urban surrounding. They attract the attention of both locals and tourists, who can’t resist taking a short break in their walk and admire the artwork.
According to Mess, she aims to create her botanical murals in a way that they “radiate” energy and life.” This is easily seen through her use of bold colors, attention to detail, and imagination-evoking elements.
“I find joy in this juxtaposition of the delicate interpretations of nature within the urban landscape, and finding the harmony between these seemingly contrasting elements,” Mess shares.
Besides creating large-scale artworks in the form of murals, Mess also makes botanic-inspired paintings that have been exhibited in various art galleries and collaborate with clothing brands on wearable art projects.

]]>Jalea’s style is marked by a puzzle-like use of simple geometric shapes, clean lines scaled up to fit any space, and the use of primary colors evocative of the simplicity of childhood. Reworking simple and bright graphic elements into complex patterns and meditative murals, his art is meant to evoke a feeling of uplifting wonder.
Ultimately, Jalea writes on his website, his purpose is to encourage social change in the form of consciousness-shifting works of art – to create works that communicate the necessity of evolving and rising above our differences by understanding the interconnectedness of all living things.
Born in Peru and currently based in Toronto, where he shares a home with his wife and kids, Jalea admits to being an avid traveler. It was actually during his travels that he formulated his approach to both his life and his art. “We are all interconnected and even though we’ve created borders and hierarchies in the world we are still one people, a race of explorers in the constant pursuit of perfection,” he stated in an interview with Talenthouse. “We have to learn to better help each other.”
With more than 20 years of painting murals and clients that include Facebook, Nike, Cirque du Soleil, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, his words are well worth taking note of.

]]>In his work, rainbow geometric architectures blend with organic shapes, bodies without identity, headless animals, and symbols that encourage reflection. His works (that might be categorized as Pop Surrealism meets Street Art), aims at raising questions about existentialism, the universe, the infinite, the meaning of life, and the contradictions of society’s false freedom. “My work is more related to surrealism and pop-art, which I discovered in school, than to street art or what is known as contemporary art,” he explained in an interview with Design Boom.
Not shying from making a statement, his work also includes massive murals as well as a number of churches, transformed into colorful installations. “I love to work on a large scale because it’s more breathtaking and I prefer to select this size of the project,” he admitted.
“I usually don’t do sketches for big murals,” he adds. “I love to draw directly on the walls and keep creating and improvising during the process. I need to see in person the whole architecture and try to play with that. when I do sculptures I need to sketch and then take it to my team to work it out in 3D. depending on the project, I have about 4 assistants that help me with everything.”

]]>After studying fine arts in high school and obtaining a BA and MA degree in Communication Design, Schnee has worked independently since 2015, with clients as big as Adidas, Nike, and The Washington Post. “I work mostly with abstract and vibrant elements,” she says. “Whether it’s an animation, a mural or an installation. I incorporate my shapes in every piece of my work. For me, it’s magical to tell a story just with abstract elements and special textures.”
Inspired by surreal artists such as Ernst, Magritte, and Miro, Schnee says she loves the way these artists incorporated irony and metaphors into their pieces – a thing she herself strives to do. “With my art, I hope I can reach a lot of people and move something in them,” She says. “I want them to take a moment and think and maybe also rethink. And that I want to achieve in a playful and fun way that should not be dry and boring to experience.”

I don’t perceive art just like something I do while painting,” he told Inside the Rift in an interview. “The artistic practice is a life practice that I found in everything that I do. I don’t think in making art forever, I think in living the same way that I live now forever. With or without art.”
Chali’s art looks uniquely dynamic and creative. He often uses primary colors which makes his work almost minimalistic, despite bursting in color. Aside from these street projects, the artist creates paintings and prints that are often exhibited in galleries. He also works as a freelance curator.
