This Artist Paints Beautiful Landscapes Using Pennies As a Canvas

Bryanna Marie is a self-taught artist who uses pennies as a canvas. Her first landscape painting was created a couple of years ago, and, fascinated with the results, she immediately wanted to paint another. She says that creating one miniature painting takes up to ten hours to complete, spread out in multiple days so each layer could dry.

“I chose coins simply because I prefer to paint on metal, and preferably copper, so the penny was the perfect fit for the job,” the artist shared on Bored Panda. “And yes, I do prefer pennies minted before 1981 because of their higher copper content!”

When creating her masterpieces, Marie uses oil paintings and tiny brushes. Currently, she accepts commissions and enjoys painting personal pieces, like portraits, wildlife, and the fantasy world.
