Have you ever wondered what your cat is saying about you behind your back? Or to your face? Or if that raccoon that keeps going through your trash is tracking your period? Well, so have we.
Luckily, artist Jimmy Craig has dived into the field of animal language in his iconic comic “They Can Talk.” The comic, which soon became an internet sensation, was turned into a book in 2018, titled “They Can Talk: A Collection of Comics about Animals.”
Naturally, Craig loves animals and has always imagined that animals, not unlike humans, have unique personalities and thoughts. He found it fun to imagine what they might be saying while we are goofily looking at them, going aww, look how cute. (Spoiler: The feeling is not always mutual.)
This combination of love for comics and love for animals has led to some quirky reasoning behind the ways in which animals act, like why cats love knocking glasses off tables. Not everything boils down to evolution – so why not explore their idiosyncrasies through a comic?
