Wall In Paris Shows 311 Ways To Say “I Love You”

Artist Frédéric Baron was inspired by the “silent passions” that people use to express their love into the world. He decided to create something that will serve as a place for these people to meet, regardless of their nationality or where they’re from.

Rightly called the Wall of Love or the I Love You Wall, it features the sweet words in 311 different languages including the 192 languages of the United Nations. To make sure the inclusivity of language, Baron asked his multilingual friends and foreign embassies to write the phrase “I love you” in a notebook. He had filled three large journals with it written a thousand times. The artist then collaborated with Chinese calligraphy expert Claire Kito, to put them all together in 416-square-foot mural.

Today, the beautiful wall became a tourist attraction where people and lovers can share these three sweet words in different ways.
