A lot of people believe that marriage proposals should be a surprise in order to make them more special and memorable. But let’s face it: most of the time, the side that is being proposed can sense or predict when that moment will come.
In a viral video recently shared on TikTok, a woman named Brittany documented a day of proposal expectations that ended up in a hilariously disappointing way for her.
Brittany recorded herself and her boyfriend, Michael, throughout all sorts of activities, pondering whether they were just regular activities or part of his plot to propose to her.
“Is he proposing or just taking a lot of private phone calls?” Brittany shares in the video alongside footage of Michael talking on his phone in the driveway.
“Is he proposing or just taking me to get my nails done?” she adds while recording her hand that she hopes will have an engagement ring on by the end of the day.
Unfortunately for Brittanny, the day didn’t end in a proposal. Instead, Michael was taking her out to see the animated flick Despicable Me 4 while donning a Minion costume with yellow face paint included.
“This was a night I’ll never forget!!,” Britanny shared in the caption of the video that received more than eight million views.
While Britanny was understandably disappointed, a lot of TikTokers provided supporting comments saying that this just shows how special the proposal will be when it actually happens.
“But if he does all of that on a normal day, imagine the proposal!” one user commented.
“Now imagine how much effort he’s gonna put into the proposal!” another added.
