There are few things on this planet that are as glamourous – and demanding – as ballet dancing. A professional ballerina starts her career as early as age six and spends years of grueling training to be able to perform incredible moves on stage.
This lifestyle may be unique and interesting, but it’s also extremely inaccessible. Ballet lovers, aspiring dancers, and newbie ballerinas don’t get to see the behind-the-scenes of their favorite art too often – it’s not like you can just walk up to a ballerina after a performance and ask her about her day.
Kathryn Morgan decided to change that. A classically-trained ballerina and soloist with Miami City Ballet, when she was still training, she had no one to turn to and ask even the most basic questions – how to deal with the pressure, what to look out for, what essential items can get you through your day. So now that she’s an established dancer, she has decided to give back to her community, and share her tips, tricks and advice on YouTube.
Kathryn’s videos range from hauls to debunking myths about ballet. She shares facts about her routine, her favorite items, even stories about her injuries. Through her channel, she makes the incredible world of ballet a bit more accessible and might help new audiences fall in love with this old, magical art.
