Yuni Yoshida Creates Surreal Pixelated Food Art

Yuni Yoshida is a famous Japanese art director and designer, who is finding creative and unusual ways to attract public attention. In her latest series, called “Pixelated”, she’s blending different types of fruits together and making them look pixelated.

At first, you might think that she’s using digital manipulation, but if you look closer, you’ll notice that Yoshida used colorful cubes made from various ingredients to create these “pixels”.

“I love taking something real and letting my imagination run wild with it. When I produce something, I am not trying to do something particularly intricate, so that others take notice. I want people to think, ‘Wait, something is different’ and become inspired,” the artist said in an interview with Tokyo Fashion Week.

“That is why I produce something with an immediate visual hook for attention. Yet, I also want it to inspire people to take another closer look.”

Kiwis, oranges, apples, and bananas are just some of the fruits featured in Yoshida’s art. The artist proved that we can create amazing works of art using everyday objects as inspiration.
