Alex Chinneck Creates Surreal and Mind-Bending Sculptures

British artist Alex Chinneck creates pieces that play with people’s minds. They look surreal and out of this world, but they can’t be because you can see them with your own eyes.

Chinneck’s sculptures challenge the laws of physics and pretty much everything else. They include twisted telephone booths, sliding houses, intertwined light poles, and all sorts of other things you can and can’t imagine.

Chinneck prides himself on creating each piece from scratch despite a lot of his projects needing extensive engineering or building knowledge. He manages to do it thanks to commitment, creativity, and passion towards his projects but also because he wants to prove people who think not everything is possibly wrong.

“Doubt is a driving force – it’s nice to prove people wrong. I think I’m far more driven by the notion of proving people wrong than proving people right. I’m of course looking for people to be excited and astounded,” Chinneck said in one of his recent interviews.

Due to their complexity and size, most of Chinneck’s works are temporary pieces. However, they remain captured in fascinating photos that a lot of people think are a result of Photoshop.
