Funny cat videos are the best. Watching cats get in all sorts of unexpected situations or doing things you couldn’t imagine immediately brings out a chuckle and brightens our day. But, as it turns out, funny cat videos are not only a source of entertainment but can also serve as a source of inspiration.
For example, Singapore-based artist Yen uses funny cat videos as an inspiration to create charming comics full of lighthearted humor and cute cats. Her beautifully illustrated comics usually consist of four panels that capture the essence of the video.
Yen shares her works on her Instagram page, The Great Flooflers, which has 455K followers, with each post also containing the video that inspired the particular comic.
According to Yen, she initially started making funny cat videos-inspired comics, which she refers to as “flofs,” as a way to reduce stress. However, her works soon became quite popular among social media users, prompting her to dedicate herself fully to this project.
“Doodling these floofs started as an outlet for reducing stress, but as my commitment and enthusiasm grew, I started turning these digital illustrations into wallpapers and merch that will make you smile (while my cat gets extra treats from the support),” Yen explains.
