Artist Creates ‘Gloopy’ Ceramic Sculptures With Globs of Color and Texture

Sculptor Brian Rochefort uses ceramic, glazes, and globs of multiple colors to create out-of-this-world sculptures.

The ‘gloopy’ designs are like combinations of shapes, color, and chemistry. Clay objects are cracked, built upon with more material, then fired between each layer of glaze to produce oozing lava of different colors. The surfaces of the artworks are a blend of uneven clumps and smooth, bubbly drips, resulting in abstract patterns and texture blobs. Each close-up image of the sculptures are posted on the artist’s Instagram account.
