Recycling is encouraged by so many international bodies. Some countries have gone the extra mile to pay people for recycling their waste. This artist found the perfect way to recycle textile waste.

Vanessa Barragão comes from Portugal, and she creates some beautiful tapestry, and she gets her material from discarded industrial waste. She was raised in the coastal city of Albufeira. Most of her artworks are inspired by underwater plants, coral reefs and animals. These three are also the most common themes in the amazing tapestry she creates.

This artist started working from her studio 5 years ago while she was a master’s degree student at the University of Lisbon. This was where she mastered the art of creating beautiful tapestries. Presently, Vanessa resides in the northwestern city of Porto. In this region, you can find the textile industry core of the country. When she is not working as a textile designer in a rug factory, she runs her own studio.
