Artist Draws Cartoons about Her Daily Life and Her Sassy Pug Mochi

Gemma Gené is a Barcelona-born, New York-based architect, visual artist, and the creator of a cartoon titled 157 Of Gemma which has more than 294,000 Instagram followers. It is a story about her life with her seven-year-old chubby and opinionated pug Mochi, her husband Peli, and Huey and Duey, Mochi’s rescued twin brothers.

She says that the cartoon was born back in 2014 when she started drawing about her doggie in the subway on her way to and back from work.

“He [Mochi] is super sweet and well behaved, but he can be very sassy and pretty much does whatever he wants. His favorite activities include sleeping, eating and going for walks, especially when he is being carried. Mochi has many friends, most of them humans. Mochi lives happily in Bushwick and works very hard every day inspiring cartoons,” the artist shared on her personal website.

Gené has also published a book called Mi Vida con Mochi where she gathered some of their hilarious adventures. We really enjoyed browsing through her Instagram page and we believe that you will enjoy it, too. Follow her for future updates.
