TikTok users and content creators have recently been enamored with the German rap song “Barbara’s Rhubarb Bar,” also known as “Barbaras Rhabarberbar.” Based on a German tongue twister, the song inspired numerous lip-sync and dance videos, which are racking up hundreds of millions of views.
Everything started in late 2023 when German comedians Bodo Wartke and Marti Fischer took a tongue twister about a woman named Barbara who makes amazing rhubarb cakes and turned it into a rap track. Their video @/bodowartke ended up going viral, receiving more than 40 million views.
Soon, content creators all over the world began to take notice and enjoy the song’s catchy vibe despite not understanding the words. Some even decided to come up with dance routines for the song and showcase them on social media.
The dance choreography from TikTok content creators @steph_who___ and @stasii777 proved to be particularly popular, getting more than 20 million views and being duplicated by other users.
Following the success of “Barbara’s Rhubarb Bar,” Wartke and Fischer shared a follow-up video showing them performing the choreography that @steph_who___ and @stasii777 came up. The song was also released on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
