Berlin Based Artist Creates Detailed Glitchy Portraits

Harding Meyer, a Berlin Based artist, is known for his expressive and impressive works. He also makes them in large scales. The artist’s canvases are always filled with color, and he uses gestural brushstrokes which create surreal and realistic images at the same time.

Looking at the portraits closely allows you to study the human face as well as the small details that make humans who they are. Meyer also adds an extra feature that blends the background with the skin tone. This skews the viewer’s perception of the photo.

All subjects of Meyer’s paintings chose to be anonymous, and he takes others from a collection of printed and digital mass media. The images all appear glitchy when you look at them. However, even though the talented artist doesn’t know his subjects, he is able to show them in a familiar way.

See some of his work below.
