Check Out Stella Park’s Sincere Illustrations About Daily Life

Illustrator Stella Park has been drawing ever since she was young. She loves to draw the things she’d done and observed that day, depicting everyday life activities such as shopping at a supermarket, riding a bus, or eating at a restaurant.

“I think it’s very special to draw a daily routine that someone can pass by and recognize. People also heal through illustration and drawing, and can understand difficult experiences through a simple illustration,” she told It’s Nice That.

The Seoul-based artist likes using colored pencils as her medium to creating illustrations. The colors and shapes of her drawings depend on her mood and feelings but consistently bright and colorful.

She tries to capture every moment and draws inspiration from her surroundings especially in Seoul, the city she was born and raised in. “Whenever I draw something,” she said. “I try to draw it as warmly as possible because I think our daily lives are also warm and valuable.”

Park said that each artist illustrates the same places differently through a unique style. Her illustrative practice is somewhat similar to children’s book, capturing every detail with rich colors and promoting positive aura through her drawings.
