Check Out This Cool Collection of Art Toys Inspired by London’s Famous Characters

Inspired by different souvenirs they collected from their travels, British art duo Joseph Lattimer and Caitlin Derer decided to create a collection of art toys inspired by famous characters from their city of London.

Lattimer and Derer, who run a creative studio, Fancy Lamp, initially launched a successful crowdfunding campaign through Kickstarter that saw them create the basic set of five toys. The lineup included playwriter William Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth II, the famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, Tower of London guards known as Beefeater, and King Henry VIII.

The duo later expanded the collection with several other characters, including Queen Elizabeth I and King’s Guard.

According to Lattimer and Derer, their main goal is to offer London visitors a reminder of this magnificent city that they can proudly display at their homes. They also hope to expand the series, now named Collectable Cities, to other cities around the globe as well while making more additions to the London collection.

“The ultimate goal is to offer a wide selection of characters to represent a wonderfully diverse London and beyond,” Lattimer and Derer share.
