Holiday ads are a special kind of magic. Companies are getting more creative every year, so last year we saw Kevin from Home Alone in a funny ad that showed him using Google Assistant to fight the burglars, and this year, E.T. is coming back to Earth, at least for a few minutes.
In the Xfinity ad that premiered on Thanksgiving Day, we see E.T. reuniting with now 37-year-old Elliot and his family. Elliot is now a grown-up with a family of his own, and his children are seeing the funny-looking alien for the first time. “After 37 years, E.T. comes back to visit his friend, Elliott, for the holidays. During his stay, E.T. learns that Elliott now has a family of his own and that technology has completely changed on Earth since his last visit,” the video description reads.
