Sidney-based artist Ry Spirit recently presented an intriguing series of illustrations in which he combined Disney’s characters and the world of popular Japanese anime franchise Pokemon.
In his works, Spirit reimagines various Disney characters like Piglet, Donald Duck, and Monsters, Inc, duo Sulley and Mike as evolving Pokemon. What makes these illustrations even more impressive is the fact that the artist made an effort to give short descriptions about each stage of evolution.
“This one time, I thought ‘mm this would be interesting’ when the idea of combining the two things I love – Disney and Pokemon – popped into my head.” – said Ry Spirit about his work. “Thought I would have a little fun with the idea and now I can’t stop making these Disney Evolution characters.”
