Ghostly Figures Reach from Paper in these Spooky Drawings

Artist Willie Hsu describes himself as an “art maker, photo taker, tattoo enthusiast, and sneaker hobbyist.” The thing that he is most famous for, however, is spooky and haunting drawings which feature ghostly figures reaching out to the viewer from paper.

Hsu’s works do not feature the entire figure but rather just hand/s and lose physique of the creature that lurks in the dark. This allows the viewers to complement the sketch with their wild imagination and make the drawing even scarier.

“The inspiration behind my artwork stems mostly from a fascination with the afterlife,” Hsu told My Modern Met in a recent interview. “After that last grain of sand falls through the hourglass, everyone has an opinion about what comes next. Yet no one knows for certain. It’s this enigmatic beauty that fuels my imagination and drives my creativity.”
