The World’s Most Visited Airports

The world’s first airport was built in 1928 at Croydon, near London. Almost a century later, as flying got a lot faster, safer and thankfully cheaper, it became accessible to more people than ever.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) handles more non-connecting passengers than any other airport in the world, offering direct flights to nearly 200 destinations around the globe. More than 80 million travelers pass through LAX every year!

Next in greatness is Miami International Airport, one of the largest airline hubs in the United States that serves as the gateway between the US and Latin America. The airport serves more than 44 million passengers a year, and also handles more international cargo than any other airport in the US.

And finally, the O’Hare International Airport (ORD) in Chicago. O’Hare’s Public Art Program offers one of the most unique peeks into the city’s artistic culture, with work from local artists at display in every terminal. Known as one of the most kid-friendly airports out there, the airport entertains its tiny travelers with one of the largest mounted dinosaurs in the world.

Here are some cool snaps of the most visited airports on the planet!
