Isabel Emrich is a young Californian artist who created a series of oil paintings that portray young women under the sea. These colorful paintings send a powerful message that will awake all sorts of emotions in you.
The paintings will evoke that beautiful feeling of freedom, serenity, and peace when you float on water. That is exactly what Emrich wanted to achieve.
“My underwater collection is inspired by exploring the sensations of peacefulness and calmness, combined with the energy from the movement of the waves you feel when submerged,” the artist said.
She grew up in Southern California and spent her childhood with her grandmother on beach cliffs observing the sea, so the obsession with water is not surprising.
“Indeed, being in water is one of the most explicit examples one can imagine of ‘being in the moment.’ Time stands still, and once and for all the past and future disappears. Zen-like, one is in the here and now.”
Energetic brush strokes and vibrant colors give away that the artist’s work is inspired by expressionist painters like Van Gogh.
