Performance Art Group Celebrates the Weird

Performance art group, GREBNELLAW, is distinctively weird. Their blow up outfits in white and red, as well as their energized performances that are a blend of fashion, music, and straight up art, are anything but boring.

The group is headed by visual artist, performer, and singer/songwriter, Nosslo-Grebnellaw Aniluap (hence their name). “I started out making music because it was always easy to find dancers but there was always problems finding musicians who wanted to play,” she explained in an interview with Office magazine. “Then it gets a little bit more complicated than that because I’m also a visual artist and I wanted to create.”

“Really, I play God and I create these beings—I just want to have millions of them everywhere,” she added. “We are very far from that right now, but maybe the technology will help us somehow in the future.”

Their unique performance art has been featured in the Guggenheim Museum, MoMA, the Coliseum in Rome and Mejii Shrine in Tokyo, amongst other places.
