Digital artists Andrea Tamme, better known by her pseudonym Lothlelan, found an interesting way to combine her fascination with pop culture with her love for art history. She is altering the iconic paintings by inserting pop culture characters as their centerpieces.

Lothlelan’s works not only represent a great twist on the traditional art but it also gives the opportunity for the younger generation to have a better understanding of the artworks from the past.

For example, in her altered paintings, the figures in Edvard Munch’s The Scream get replaced with Rick and Morty while “Portrait Of Louis XIV” by Hyacinthe Rigaud has Ice King from Adventure Time instead of the French king.
