Primrose Bakery was founded by Martha Swift all the way back in 2004, who initially worked alongside her partner Lisa Thomas, baking cakes from their home kitchens. Two years later, they managed to open their first baker in Primrose Hill in London, and Swift now remains the sole owner of this small business.
She prides herself on making cakes and other desserts with fresh seasonal ingredients, without using any food coloring, preservatives, or additives. All her cakes are baked in small batches and decorated by hand, in an attempt to keep the spirit of simple old-fashioned baking alive.
Despite their delicious interior, Primrose Bakery’s cakes are pretty biting on the outside, and they become a true sensation on social media thanks to silly messages written in delicious piping. They range from funny to brutally honest and often exude an air of self-confidence with such messages as “not aging, just upgrading” and “princess treatment only.”
