This Adorable Rescue Pig is an Aspiring Artist

The animal kingdom has got themselves another aspiring artist. An adorable rescue pig, known as Pigcasso, has been recently impressing the art world with his unique paintings that are already drawing huge interest in auctions.

Pigcasso’s story began in 2016 when he was just a one-month-old piglet sentenced to a short life in a slaughterhouse. Luckily for the pig, South African animal lover Joanne Lefson managed to save him from the cruel destiny and get him to her sanctuary, where she hoped to provide him with a better life.

The little pig was naturally shaken after his slaughterhouse experience and was making a mess wherever he would go. The only thing he didn’t destroy was some old paintbrushes, which prompted Lefson to think the pig had artistic aspirations.

Lefson soon decided to provide Pigcasso with some paints, brushes, and canvas and waited to see what would happen. To her surprise, the pig went straight to work and started painting.

Since then, Pigcasso has created hundreds of artworks, with some selling for thousands of dollars on the sanctuary’s official website. Reportedly, one even sold for more than $20,000, which made it the most expensive animal painting ever. All the funds collected through sales of Pigcasso’s art are invested in the Farm Sanctuary, which is home not only to the pig but also to cows, chickens, sheep, goats, and other rescued animals.
