Mark Weins defines himself as a full-time travel eater. He lives in Bangkok with his wife but travels constantly in search of new tastes and aromas.
His life was always a bit extraordinary: born in Phoenix, Arizona, he moved with his parents to France at the age of 6, then moved to the Democratic Republic of Congo where he was home-schooled, and eventually landed in Nairobi, Kenya, where he and his family stayed for 8 years.
His early travels left him with a taste for more, so after his college graduation in 2008, he immediately set out to travel through South America. While his travels led him to the States again, for his sister’s wedding, he wasn’t ready to settle down just yet. Next, he traveled to Bangkok. His goal was to be able to make a living traveling and eating. He started working on his blog and slowly but surely, attracted a following of fans who were just as passionate about food and travel as he was.
Today, he’s finally settled down with his lovely wife Ying, though they’re not done with their travels – now they travel together, eat amazing food, and share their journeys with their fans via social media. What a great life!
