Turkish Artist Depicts the Remarkable Geometry of Nature

Elif Ciftcioglu is a 36-year-old artist and product designer from Istanbul, Turkey best-known for her images that include geometrical elements that emphasize the magic in nature.

“My works are also inspired by the concept; bio-mimicry where design and art mimics nature to create a more sustainable living,” the artist shared on Bored Panda. “I am more concerned with the feeling that the colors give and the movements of patterns and lines to create free and nature friendly environments and dreams.”

She also creates art by using a technique called Flamework, a type of glasswork that uses a gas fueled torch to melt rods and tubes of clear and colored glass, as well as making accessories and conceptual artworks on glass.

Her masterpieces have been exhibited both locally and internationally, and have been published in Contemporary Art of Excellence, Volume 2 – a fully-illustrated art dictionary that showcases contemporary artworks by emerging artists, curated by Global Art Agency.
