USPS Honors Late “Jeopardy!” Host Alex Trebek With Special Stamp Collection

The United States Postal Service recently announced a new line of Forever stamps honoring the late Alex Trebek, the legendary host of the iconic game show Jeopardy!

The stamps are designed to mimic the Jeopardy! format, which sees questions worded as answers and requires contestants to word their answers as questions. They feature the inscription: “THIS NATURALIZED U.S. CITIZEN HOSTED THE QUIZ SHOW ‘JEOPARDY!’ FOR 37 SEASONS” in white letters on a blue background in the same way the show presents its questions. Underneath it says “Who is Alex Trebek?” and “Forever USA.”

The Alex Trebek stamps are currently on presale and will officially become available on July 22. They come in sheets of 20, which cost $14.60 or $0.73 a piece. The design was first unveiled on a recent episode of Jeopardy! by current host Ken Jennings.

Alex Trebek originally became the host of Jeopardy! in 1984 and held the position until his death in 2020. During the 37 seasons, Trebek hosted approximately 8,200 episodes of the show. He was named the Guinness World Record holder in 2014 for “most game show episodes hosted by the same presenter.”

Trebek hosted a number of other shows in his career, including Double Dare, Stars on Ice, and Classic Concentration, while also making a number of acting appearances as a fictionalized version of himself.
