Vans is Releasing a Frida Kahlo-inspired Shoe Collection

After releasing a collection of shoes and apparel inspired by Vincent Van Gogh last year, Vans decided to find inspiration in the art world once again. This time their muse was iconic Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.

Vault by Vans recently announced that they are releasing a “truly unique collection of footwear” which will honor the artist and her work. The collection will feature classic Vans sneakers decorated by “a curated selection of Kahlo’s paintings.”

The OG Sk8-Hi LX will now be enriched with Kahlo’s famous self-portrait The Two while OG Authentic LX will have a watermelon taken from Viva la Vida. Finally, the OG Slip-On LX will get embellished with a Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird.

The shoes are on sale as of June 29, 2019 in selected stores.
