Meerkats are wild animals living in the Kalahari or Namibian desert and they’re social creatures who live in groups or “mobs.” But, there’s a meerkat called Surya whose also a social meerkat who enjoys the company of other animals, but her best friend is a chunky Chartreux cat named Nice.
Surya lives in St. Petersburg with her owner Ekaterina Kuraeva who saved the animal when she was only a baby by adopting her from the Moscow zoo. The meerkat came to her new home and met her new best friend – a cat named Nico who was 2-years-old at the time.
Fast forward 6 years later, the lively meerkat and
her chunky friend are having the time of their lives. They’re also conquering
the Internet as unlikely friends and have more than 37 thousand followers on
Instagram.
“It is fortunate that they have become friends and are so affectionate to each other,” they’re owner told Bored Panda.
