Cristiam Ramos is considered one of the most unique and talented artists today. He has been the recipient of several international awards for his unusual art.

One of his works is called “Candy Portraits,” in which Ramos uses different kinds of sweets like gummy bears, licorice, M&M’s, bubble gum, mints, and sweet tarts, to create colorful portraits of celebrities. According to Ramos, each art piece has around 6,000 candies.

He got this idea four years ago, while he was in a park. He saw a child smiling after getting a candy from his dad and at that time, Ramos discovered that sweets make a person happy. He then wondered, “what if they saw one of their favorite artists enshrined in their favorite sweets?”

Soon enough, Ramos turned that brilliant idea into a reality and today, his celebrity candy portraits sell for thousands of dollars depending on the size and the number of sweets used.

“I love and feel inspired to create different things with new materials,” Ramos shared. “My only desire as an artist is to convey to people the pleasure I feel in doing this work and that if ever anyone sees a work item out of the ordinary rest assured that is Christian Ramos.”
