Artist Creates Remarkable Leaf-Cutting Art Inspired by Everyday Situations

Iranian artist Omid Asadi describes his art as “versatile and [it] concerns many acute issues in contemporary society, like identity, the individual against the state, kindness, war, cruelty and mercy.” The now Manchester-based Asadi works in performance, sculpture, installation, and video.

However, he is maybe best-known for his delicate and fragile leaf-cutting art and his journey began back in 2012. According to the artist, he wanted to work on something which has a strong message.

“This art for me is about seeing! It is not just make a beautiful work,” the artist shared on Bored Panda. “I believe one of the most important responsibilities of the artists is to make others see or create new ways to see the hidden aspects. We are surrounded by visual pollution and ads which they bombard our visions.”
