In case you missed it, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, is already out in theaters, and it’s an absolute must-watch if you were a fan of 2014’s Godzilla reboot.
Featuring far more monsters than the first film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters is an absolute dream come true for fans of carnage and absolute destruction. Unfortunately, the sequel hasn’t been met with as much commercial success as the original. Case in point, Godzilla: King of the Monsters opened with $49 million at the domestic box office compared to the $93 million of 2014’s Godzilla.
Perhaps it’s the lack of action — the monsters don’t really meet that much or that often — or the fact that the movie is releasing along with other blockbusters.
Either way, while critics and fans may not like Godzilla: King of the Monsters as much, one thing that can’t be denied is that it’s full of meme material.
Take for example, what webcomic creator, Ernest Ng, did.
After seeing one particular shot where Godzilla is jumping out of the depths of the ocean to breathe “fire” into the sky, he decided to poke fun at the absurdity of it all.
Of course, nobody really cares about the logic behind it all, but he does raise a fair point, albeit in a hilarious way.
